This is from the special editions of the Harry Potter films that have recently come out. The kids are talking about working with Alan Rickman, and Chris Columbus talks about the Rickman awesomeness.

What is your top-ten song list? What was it when you were a kid? Is there any overlap?

View 622 Answers

1. "Poison" by Alice Cooper
2. "Narc" by Interpol
3. "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning" by The Smashing Pumpkins
4. "Black Hole Sun" by Sound Garden
5. "Mama" by My Chemical Romance
6. "You Take My Breath Away" by Queen
7. "My Way" by Frank Sinatra
8. "Hey You" by Pink Floyd
9. "The Man Who Sold the World" by David Bowie
10. "Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera

Few have actually changed since I was little. The classic rock songs are pretty much the stuff I've listened to since I was a kid, my parents have good music taste. The songs might be different, but the bands are pretty much the same.

Is there any song you'll never grow tired of hearing? If so, what is it, how long have you loved it, and why?

Wow, soooo many to choose from.

Hmmm, I think it has to be "Narc" by Interpol. I've loved this song for years. I listen to it every day, without a fault. It's still as good now as when I first heard it.

I'm posting this vid for it, cuz it's too awesome and cute. Someone made a music video for Spock using 'Narc', awesome.

What are the three best books you have ever read and what are the three worst? What made them so good or bad?

Hmmmm, I luv books so this is really hard.

In no particular order of the Best

-The Thorn Birds
- Phantom by Susan Kay (Story of the Phantom of the Opera)
- Jane Eyre

All three completely hit my emotional core, I know that sounds cheesy, but each made me bawl my eyes out, every time I've read them :p

The Worst :p

- Twilight (I only read the first one)
- The Handmaids Tale
- cant think of any other ones....

You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out.

FIRST NAME
Kristin. I also answer to SilentKW, White Devil (according to the brown family down the street), Comrade, and Zachary Quinto's yet-to-be girlfriend

AGE
19 going on 10, going on 40...I know right.

LOCATION
The Dirty-B, Canada. It's a shitty city. I gotta get outta here...soon. Plus it smells pretty bad, and I'm tired of people getting murdered here, srsly.

OCCUPATION
Currently between jobs. I was a carney, which was the devil. I will be an artist though, of some sort.

PARTNER
I'm dying alone. Besides a few blind dates, I've been permanently single. I'll be that crazy lady at the back of the bar wearing a shower cap and yelling at my imaginary dog Brutus.

KIDS
I have my doggies. Are children in my future? Doubt it. I guess maybe a kid would be nice.

BROTHERS/SISTERS
I have none. I do have a step-brother and step-sister, and they get spoiled by my dad and step-mom...and I get nothing.

PETS
2 doggies. A 7 yr old cocker spaniel named Sheba, and a 16 yr old german shepherd/Husky named Jake.

List the 3/5 biggest things going on in your life
1. My art career which is doing pretty well, and I hope it continues to be
2. My everlasting search for love, which is still unnsuccessful....and there aren't any potential victims at the moment.
3. Finishing college this year, and doing something with my life.
4. ...I got nothing else :p

PARENTS
Meh, they're parents, and they're not together.

Who are some of your closest friends?
Lemme see, I got Kirsten, Monique, Matt, Jose, and Wayne. Then there's my LJ friends who kick ass: distress_bacon, mcscary, miss_bushido, serena_took, stupidbunnysuit, elle_vee, deutschtard

Lol, Alan Rickman being praised on the British show QI.

It just makes me laugh so much, and reminds me why I adore Alan so.

What is your all-time favorite, romantic movie scene? What about it speaks to you?

View 1073 Answers

Wow

I think it has to be the very end of the Thorn Birds. Ralph and Meggie went through their whole lives together, and had so many difficulties (cuz Ralph is a priest). Ralph is an elderly man, and its pretty much his dying scene. Makes me cry every time.

“Women are like apples on trees, the best ones are on the top of the tree. The men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and don't want to get hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't so good but easy. So, the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top becuase they value quality.” - unknown

Silent Hill has to be one of the freakiest, yet beautiful movies I've ever seen. It's one of the many movies Im watching today for Halloween.

Here's a fantastic music video someone created for it using A Perfect Circle, which is an amazing band.

RANDOM DORKY HARRY POTTER POST!

K.

I'm back on my Tim Roth admiration binge, and after re-watching several of his films, and looking up several pictures of him, I wondered, "Maybe, just maybe, he should've played Snape".

For those of you that are unaware, Tim Roth was actually approached the play Snape before Alan Rickman, but declined due to his agreement to do Planet of the Apes. Since Alan Rickman has always been my imaginary fiance for years now, I was quite happy, and he has done an incredible job. However, when I read the books, it's not Alan's face I see, it is something of a hybrid between Roth and my own imagination.

It was really when I saw this picture did I go....wait a momento.

Cuz he's one of the only men short enough for me :p

Recently got back into watching "Lie To Me", and remembered what a babe that Tim Roth is. Mr Orange from Reservoir Dogs, monkey from Planet of the Apes, and Vincent Van Gogh.

Plus, he's british, and he was also a model.

"The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed."

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicise those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them.

I like books with pictures and shit... )

Well, "The Big Read", I take your '6', and raise you a shitload of books here. I am a teenager and do read things longer than a text message, thank you very much.

So, yet again, ABC has approved of several new comedy shows, of course, many of them won't survive past the US thanksgiving (we just had ours, it was deliciously fantastic). There are a few I do like, I do like "Glee"

But I'm loving "Modern Family". It's fucking hilarious.

It's got Ed Bundy from "Married with Children" in it.

Here's a preview, looky, thingy.

Do you believe some people are more fortunate than others or do you think people create their own luck? In your opinion, are some people cursed?

View 888 Answers

Oh, I'm fucking cursed. My life is just a sequence of unfortunate events, dabbled with the occasional several minutes of glee.

I think it's heredity. My entire family has the worst luck. Whether it be health-wise, love-related, financial, or just plain shit.

I'm not bitter...I have been called Jaded.

In better news, a big black guy paid for my coffee for me at Tim Horton's today. He told me I looked pretty good and had a nice ass.....had no idea how to respond other than, "oh.....thanks"
